Background

Shaka London was started in 1998 as a part of YMF International (Thai) Co., Ltd. YMF Thai has been manufacturing garments for Japan over ten years. YMF Thai was eager to create and manage its own brand using the skills and knowledge they had developed through manufacturing. Shaka London has had three lead designers during its eight years of operation, and has recently reestablished the brand with a new head-designer and team. Shaka London has firmly established its position as a shop for young, fashion-forward women.

Concept Philosophy

Our concept is cleverly cute outfits for women who understand and appreciate true fashion. Fashion is not something to follow, but something to use to make your own statement. That is why we make clothes for women who want to be different than everybody else. That is why we don't say just "cute" but "cleverly cute". We try to create each collection to give "being cute" a whole different meaning. Being cutely dressed does not mean wearing frill and lace. With the clever cutting and techniques we use, we are challenging the idea of being cute and creating Shaka's own original cuteness.
